Choose the material for the job—not the label.
Paper, film, silicone, metal hardware and desiccant media serve different purposes. Confirm the complete supplied construction, including coatings, closures and liners, before judging compatibility, reuse or disposal.
Paper wrapping, cushioning and inserts
Compare honeycomb paper, paper padding, fitted inserts and void fill by their role in the complete pack. Request grade, dimensions and any coating or liner. A paper appearance does not establish protection for glass or acceptance by a local recycler.
Flexible film and stretch wrap
Check film structure, thickness, roll width, length and dispenser fit. Stretch film holds bundles together but is not impact cushioning. Food-contact use and flexible-film collection must be confirmed separately.
Silicone bags, covers and lids
Request complete-item food-contact documents, usable dimensions, closure and care limits. A silicone material name is not a microwave, freezer, dishwasher or leakproof rating. Confirm the supplied product rather than copying another brand's specification.
Tools, closures and durable parts
Compare the actual materials, compatible consumables, moving parts and replacement instructions. A proposed cutter or sealer is not proven to have a metal construction or a tested service life merely because the catalogue groups it with durable tools.
Desiccant and protective media
Silica gel, activated clay, magnesium chloride and container-scale calcium chloride are distinct selections. Confirm chemistry, containment, enclosure, exposure period and the manufacturer's sizing guidance. Moisture adsorption, odour control and ethylene management are different jobs.
Plan care and the end-of-life route
